How to Apply to Nursing Programs at LSC

The LSC nursing admissions process is competitive. It鈥檚 a separate process from becoming an LSC student. All nursing program applicants who complete minimum admission requirements by the application deadline will be considered for admission to the nursing program. Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the nursing program.

Step 1: Before Applying...

Before applying to the LSC nursing program, complete the following steps:

Before you begin the LSC nursing application, apply and become an LSC student, if you have not already done so.

Important

Important:You must declare your academic program of interest to apply to a nursing program. You can do this when you apply to LSC or by meeting with an advisor. Choose:

  • Nursing (to become an RN)

Complete pre-program courses and requirements

Complete all 鈥減re-program鈥 requirements / courses specified in your program guide.

Review pre-program requirements in the program guide including:

  • English
  • Reading
  • Math
  • Pre-program courses
  • GPA requirements

Apply while attending pre-program classes?

Professional nursing applicants must have completed all pre-program classes before applying.

NOTE: If you attended college somewhere else (including the military), you may be able to transfer credits that meet your pre-program course requirements.

Register for Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam

  1. Create an account at聽
  2. Log into聽
  3. Choose Exam registration
  4. Choose register for ATI TEAS In-Person or Remote Online
  5. Choose ATI TEAS for Nursing Students OR choose ATI TEAS for Allied Health (PTA or PTA Military Bridge)
  6. Choose country, state, and city
  7. Choose date
  8. Register for the AIT Remote proctor exam or PSI testing center by paying $120.00. Available locations and test dates are listed in the ATI testing site. You may choose to take the exam at any located listed on the ATI website.聽 The cost could vary by locations.

**Please follow all instructions on the ATI website regarding required documents which include a valid photo ID and your ATI username and password.**

Prepare for Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam

Use the ATI TEAS Study Guide

  • Check out a copy of the ATI TEAS study guide to use while in the LSC Learning Center (you can鈥檛 take it with you)
  • Purchase a copy of the study guide from the bookstore or online
  • Borrow or buy a used copy of the study guide from someone who鈥檚 already passed the test

Learn, practice or take a simulated test online

  • Under 鈥淎ll Centers鈥 choose 鈥淐areer Center鈥
  • Choose 鈥淧repare for an Entrance Exam鈥
  • Choose 鈥淧repare for Nursing School Entrance Tests鈥, then 鈥淣ursing School Practice Entrance Tests鈥. You can learn, practice or take a simulated test.
  • For additional practice before taking practice tests, choose 鈥淣ursing School Entrance Tests eBooks鈥.

Get help in-person at LSC Learning Center

The LSC Learning Center provides:

  • Free tutoring
  • Textbooks and study guides available for reference 鈥 use them to practice specific concepts

Step 3: Next Steps...

The LSC nursing admissions process is competitive. It鈥檚 a separate process from becoming an LSC student. All nursing program applicants who complete minimum admission requirements by the application deadline will be considered for admission to the nursing program. Meeting minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into the nursing program.

Wait for notification of acceptance

You can expect to receive notification from LSC鈥檚 nursing department within the notification time frame stated in the application procedure.

Accepted

Accepted students MUST complete the required next steps by the deadline

Accepted nursing students will receive a an acceptance letter to the preferred email address on file. You must complete forms and return to us as directed in acceptance letter to secure your seat in the program.

Not Accepted

If you were NOT accepted, you can reapply during a future application period.

You must complete the entire nursing application process again. You do not have to apply to 探花视频 again.

Step 4: Accepted Students...

If you were chosen to participate in the nursing program, complete the following tasks by the due date shown in your acceptance letter. You must complete these tasks by the due date to be guaranteed a seat in the nursing program.

Complete Minnesota Department of Human Services and Federal background study. Details are listed with the acceptance letter.

  2. Complete needed immunizations and tuberculosis screening

CPR / first aid certification

CPR / first aid certification

Submit a copy of your current CPR/first aid certification for Healthcare Providers. Please refer to the nursing admission policy for appropriate options.

Accept Your Seat

Accept Your Seat

Email your acceptance to the contact listed in the acceptance letter.

Healthcare Experience or Certification

Healthcare Experience or Certification

Provide a copy of your current registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Military Medic, EMT, paramedic, radiology technologist, respiratory therapist, certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, or Physical Therapy Assistant. If you do not have a current certification, please review the Nursing admission policy.
