Fired Up About Welding
Thursday, October 19, 2023 - through Friday, October 20, 2023
Fired Up about Welding is a free camp taught by three local female professional welders designed to teach basic welding skills. We will introduce a welding process called Gas Metal Arc Welding and basic machining. Participants will fabricate some fun projects the participants can bring home with them. We will also explore some of the many career opportunities that exist locally for welders. There will be a presentation by Stanley LaBounty of Two Harbors, and we will take a field trip to tour Altec Industries.
- Camp hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Thurs Oct 19th and Fri Oct 20th.
- Drop-off for camp participants opens at 7:30 a.m. and pickup is at 3:30 p.m. both days.
- Participants should come to camp both days wearing jeans and closed toed shoes. All additional personal protective equipment for welding will be provided.
- Participants should bring their snacks- lunch will be provided.
- There is no college or high school credit awarded for participation.
