On Wednesday, March 23, 68 LSC students were inducted into the college鈥檚 local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges and academic programs.
PTK Alumni Advisor and Guistwhite Scholar Deanna Keller shared her personal story as a member and officer in the honors society, and credited PTK with both her development as a leader and her ability to afford higher education with its scholarships. She encouraged new members to likewise become involved in PTK as officers. 鈥淒oes this sound like a sales pitch?鈥� she asked. 鈥淚t is.鈥�
Students must have a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher in order to be eligible for membership. Membership benefits include eligibility for scholarships, publishing opportunities and leadership development programming.
