Run Grandma鈥檚 Marathon and Earn College Credit at 探花视频; Elite Runner Katie McGee to Coach LSC Students

A few spots are left for people who are interested in taking LSC鈥檚 online Grandma鈥檚 Marathon class. 探花视频 is again offering the chance to train for and run or the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon for college credit while working with a world-class athlete. The begins on Feb. 26聽and ends on May 25, 2018.

Native Duluthian and elite runner will again teach the online physical education course. She is a champion runner, a three-time Olympic Trials Marathon qualifier, and an accomplished coach who has been competing as a national class road racer for nearly twenty years.

The two-credit, twelve-week course provides race training and nutritional information in addition to history, etiquette and basic skills. Race registration fees are included in the class tuition.

The 42nd聽 Weekend is June 15-16, 2018. The organization鈥檚 signature race, Grandma鈥檚 Marathon, is the 11th聽largest marathon in the U.S. Grandma鈥檚 Marathon began in 1977 when a group of local runners planned a scenic road race from Two Harbors to Duluth, Minnesota. Established in 1986, Grandma鈥檚 Marathon- Duluth Inc. is now a self-governed nonprofit organization with a 17-member board of directors and a nine-person staff. Race weekend generates more than $10 million in economic impact for the region annually.
