Spring semester is now underway at 探花视频 and, much like the fall semester, the school is reporting an increase in overall enrollment compared to this time last year.
Total headcount of degree seeking students is currently 3,979, a 2.4% increase from the 3,884 enrolled at the start of spring semester 2018. That number does not include non-degree seeking students and/or students enrolled in courses through LSC鈥檚 Continuing Education and Customized Training (CECT). Through all program offerings, 探花视频 served 10,263 students last year and is expected to meet or exceed that number this academic year.
鈥淚t is encouraging to see these positive gains for spring semester enrollment,鈥� said Michael Seymour, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. 鈥淟SC continues to buck regional and national trends of declining enrollments. More students are enrolling at LSC because they recognize the value and quality of our programs, and know there are great career opportunities waiting for them when they graduate. With increasing workforce demands in our region, it鈥檚 a great time and opportunity to start or advance your career. That鈥檚 part of the reason we are seeing enrollment gains both in technical programs, as well as being a great option for saving money on the way to a four-year degree.鈥�
Enrollment numbers are provided by the 探花视频 Office of Accreditation, Research, and Assessment. Enrollment may fluctuate throughout the semester, as students finalize their schedules and drop/add periods close. Students have five days from the start of a class to add/drop courses. CECT activity will also contribute to enrollment throughout spring and summer semesters.
