
鈥淭he task competition showcases original robot design by students as well as聽demonstrating different team approaches to mechanical challenges,鈥 said Manufacturing Engineering CAD Technology faculty member聽Rich Kresky. 鈥淚t鈥檚 always interesting to see students make progress as they learn to work as a team.鈥
The robots are challenged聽to pick up steel marbles of a specific quantity and move them from container A to container B while traveling through an obstacle course. They will be judged on staying within the course, the number of marbles deposited, and the amount of time needed to complete the task.聽Past robotic task challenges have included moving ping pong balls, water balloons, buckets of sand, and raw eggs through obstacle courses.
